Position Overview:
The Bookkeeper/Office Manager will serve as the senior accounting and financial reporting professional for a growing renewable energy company. This role is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls and supporting strategic decision-making as the business scales.
As the most senior accounting professional in the organization, the Bookkeeper/Office Manager will work closely with executive leadership and external partners to manage the company’s financial health, ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements and establish scalable accounting processes to support growth. This position requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable operating in a lean environment while building structure and best practices.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, experience managing month-end and year-end close and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights for leadership. Experience within project-based, energy, infrastructure or capital-intensive environments is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll coordination, and fixed assets.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and present financial reports, variance analyses, and key insights to executive leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Establish, maintain, and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support a growing and scaling organization.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, and treasury activities, ensuring adequate liquidity for ongoing projects and operations.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of accounting experience within a small business
- Construction experience is preferred
