UX Designer - User Experience Designer-On-Site
Responsibilities
Conduct Stakeholder & User Research: Lead interviews and user research with elderly residents, immigrant communities, and other effected populations to understand their specific challenges and needs for prevention and reporting.
Develop User Personas & Journey Maps: Map the end-to-end experience of a victim seeking help, from the initial scam contact to the 311 referral and the digital resource landing page.
Define Functional Requirements: Translate user needs into technical design requirements for the app’s call-filtering interface and the website’s resource navigation that are intuitive and helpful.
Execute High-Fidelity Wireframing: Support the design of the user interface for the Secure App and web resources.
Create Content Strategy: Draft plain-language, trauma-informed content for the resource pages and in collaboration with 311 to ensure instructions are easy to follow during high stress situations.
Build Interactive Prototypes: Develop prototypes in Figma or similar tools to demonstrate user flows for stakeholder approval and developer handoff.
Facilitate Usability Testing: Run iterative testing sessions with diverse users to identify and resolve points of friction in the app and web layouts.
Oversee Visual Design Consistency: Ensure all digital assets align with clients’s brand identity and use key design components of the design system.
Skills Reqd
At least 4 years of User Experience (UX) / Product Design experience.
User research methodology expertise including proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods (e.g., usability testing, moderated user interviews) Mastery of industry-standard design tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite for high-fidelity design and prototyping.
Experience working on a cross functional technical team with engineers and product managers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Skills
Experience designing interfaces that support multiple languages (specifically Spanish, Chinese, and Russian) and vulnerable
populations.
Experience designing mobile applications (iOS/Android) and mobile friendly websites. Accessibility expertise, particularly for seniors
(e.g., high-contrast ratios, legible typography, and screen-reader optimization).
Experience working within or contributing to established municipal or enterprise-level design systems.
