The Configure Product Sales & Quoting Specialist II reports to the VP of Sales and Marketing and is responsible for researching, analyzing, and developing accurate, margin-driven quotations for vehicles, systems, and components. This role partners closely with dealers, municipalities, contractors, and internal teams to translate customer needs into clearly defined specifications, vehicle layouts, and detailed financial proposals. Additionally, the position provides technical and sales support, ensuring quotes are delivered on time and aligned with customer requirements and company objectives.

- Partner with sales teams, dealers, and customers to understand project requirements and translate them into accurate quotes
- Prepare timely, detailed quotes and proposals for vehicles, systems, components, and formal bids
- Research technical questions and provide clear, helpful answers to both customers and internal teams
- Use and continuously improve our quoting tools (including Epicor Configurator) to streamline processes and increase accuracy
- Build and maintain cost estimates for standard and custom components
- Ensure quotes align with pricing targets, timelines, and customer expectations
- Work with vendors to gather pricing, specifications, and availability for key components
- Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Production to ensure a smooth transition from quote to order
- Enter and manage purchase orders, ensuring all details are accurate and complete
- Maintain organized records of quotes, bids, and technical data to support future projects
- Track deadlines and managing multiple opportunities to ensure on-time submissions
- Provide technical product support to sales teams in the field
Required Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Technical aptitude and interest in vehicle systems, mechanical assemblies, and electrical components
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, and customer requirements
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfort working with data, pricing, and cost structures
- Experience with quoting, estimating, or ERP/configuration tools (Epicor experience is a plus)
- Awareness of competitive products and market trends is a bonus
Required Experience and Education:
- Minimum of 5 years quoting/estimating of mechanical/electrical equipment
- Previous experience with Municipal bid development preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in electrical assembly and wiring AC and DC circuits.
- Experience in a job shop environment.
- Experience with training and mentoring team members on industry best practices.
- Some experience with continuous improvement/LEAN
