Quality Control Inspector – Printed Promotional Products

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring printed promotional products meet customer order requirements and company quality standards. This role inspects products at the first-piece stage, during production, and at final completion to verify artwork, color, print location, and overall print quality before orders move to packaging.

Key Responsibilities

• Review job orders, proofs, and order layouts before inspection.
• Perform first-piece inspection before production runs begin.
• Conduct random in-process inspections during production.
• Complete final inspection before orders are released for packaging.
• Verify artwork accuracy, color, imprint placement, orientation, and print completion.
• Identify and report print defects, product defects, and specification mismatches.
• Separate defective product and communicate issues to operators and supervisors.
• Maintain inspection records and follow quality procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required. College degree in the related fields is strongly preferred.
• Previous quality control, inspection, printing, decorating, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience in promotional products, screen printing, pad printing, heat transfer, digital printing, or similar decorated product environment is strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of artwork layout, imprint positioning, and visual quality standards preferred.
• Ability to compare physical printed product against job ticket, proof, or approved order layout accurately.
• Basic computer skills for viewing orders, proofs, and entering inspection information.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, artwork instructions, and production documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot visual differences quickly and accurately.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with production teams in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong visual inspection skills for printed quality and product appearance.
• Ability to identify differences in color, print location, alignment, orientation, and completeness.
• Ability to make sound pass/fail judgments based on specifications and standards.
• Ability to stay focused while inspecting repetitive work.
• Ability to stop or escalate issues when quality standards are not met.
• Ability to organize inspection work and handle multiple jobs in process.
• Dependable, consistent, and quality-minded approach to work.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Regular exposure to noise, moving equipment, and active production areas.
• May require standing and walking for extended periods.
• May require frequent use of hands and close visual attention for detailed inspection work.
• May occasionally lift or move boxes or product up to a specified weight, such as 25–40 pounds, depending on department needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods during the shift.
• Ability to visually inspect small details, print quality, and product appearance at close range.
• Ability to bend, reach, handle, and move products throughout the inspection process.
• Ability to lift and move materials within normal production requirements.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
