The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in leading cross-functional teams, navigating competing priorities, and ensuring successful program execution in a dynamic and demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, oversee, and manage complex federal programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, stakeholder requirements, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication, task delegation, and resource management.
- Develop and maintain detailed program plans, including schedules, milestones, and resource allocation, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Apply Agile methodologies and program management best practices to drive program success and adaptability in changing environments.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks, maintaining a proactive approach to addressing challenges and obstacles.
- Provide high-level performance reporting, presenting program status, issues, and risks to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Foster strong relationships with executive leadership and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of objectives.
- Lead program-related meetings, ensuring productive discussions, decision-making, and alignment across all involved teams.
- Mentor and guide junior program managers, providing leadership in developing program management practices and methodologies.
- Stay current on industry best practices and standards, incorporating new methodologies and tools to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in program and project management.
- At least 5 years of experience managing large-scale, complex federal programs or initiatives.
- Proven expertise in Agile methodologies, program planning, risk management, and performance reporting.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with executive leadership and high-level stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities effectively.
Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), or equivalent required.
- Agile or SAFe certification preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
Skills/Competencies:
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making acumen.
- Proficient in program management tools, including Microsoft Project, Jira, and other relevant software.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Knowledge of federal program regulations and compliance requirements.
