Ariel Alternatives, LLC is a private asset management firm affiliated with Ariel Investments, LLC. Position Summary         

We are looking for a Senior PE Associate to support all aspects of the private equity investment process, from adding value to portfolio companies, to sourcing, evaluating, financing, and completing new platform and add-on investments.  This person will be expected to collaborate with a variety of functions throughout the organization.  Position will be located in our NY office where we offer a hybrid work model.  Must be fully vaccinated to interview in person and by date of hire.  Proof of vaccination is required as a condition of employment.

The individual will also be responsible for:

  • A variety of limited partner / portfolio administration accounting, performance measurement, data analysis, reconciliation and reporting activities supporting clients
  •  Assisting partners with tasks pertaining to daily and monthly and quarterly client service, operations and, accounting reporting deliverables
  • Assisting with on-boarding new clients from a data management, portfolio analytic, and data integrity standpoint
  • The Associate must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks as this job entails simultaneously working on projects while also meeting client deliverables in a timely fashion
  • This person will have long-term and short-term project responsibilities and will be responsible for providing status updates to key internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Responsibilities will also include completing ad-hoc inquiries and reporting for clients
  • Using various software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software to prepare reports and/or special projects.

  • Strong PowerPoint presentation/charting skills
  • Articulate – comfortable communicating with management, advisors, etc.

Experience and Qualifications 

  • Two years of relevant work experience; Private equity portfolio and/or fund administration experience is a plus
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or related field required; MBA strongly preferred
  • Client service experience required
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Must be a team player, willing to help other team members during peak volume periods
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual
  • Ability to work independently
  • Highly organized individual who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet client deadlines in an accurate manner
  • Must be able to travel domestically 15-20% of the time.

 

Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
    • Knowledge of VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, and basic macro VBAs in Excel is a plus
