Activities Assistant Responsibilities:
- We are looking for compassionate, patient, engaging and positive individuals looking to make a difference in the lives of others. This is a fun and fulfilling position that works directly with our residents.
- Facilitating excellent activity-based programs to encourage socialization, relaxation, and recreation, supporting the patient’s care plan, and helping our residents to enjoy themselves throughout their day.
- These programs include working with individuals, small groups, and large groups spending time with residents with varied needs in regard to age, background, physical limitations, dietary limitations, interests and mental capacity.
- Contacting each new resident, familiarizing them with the activity opportunities available to them and encouraging participation. Conducting assessments of activity needs to meet individual goals and objectives.
- Observing participants at programs, gauging their enjoyment, and obtaining their feedback to improve programs. Providing input to the Activity Director regarding the evaluation of programs. Assist in planning activities that support and maintain the resident’s quality of life and meet state requirements for addressing their social, physical, spiritual, and mental health. Assist in displaying and distributing the monthly activity calendar.
- Preparing daily materials and supplies needed for the day’s programs and informing the Activity Director of needed supplies.
- Keeping activity areas clean, safe, and organized
- Performing clerical tasks as assigned including keeping records regarding resident’s daily participation in activities and resource needs of the department
- Assisting with decorating for holidays and special events to create a celebratory and inviting atmosphere.
- Displaying enthusiasm in promoting activities to residents.
- Reporting medical concerns or observations, injuries, or behavioral incidents.
- Adhering to and enforcing all safety procedures.
Salary : $12 - $14
