Certified Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care particularly within our inpatient settings. This position requires proficiency in medical terminology. Experience in addiction medicine is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant information.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills.

Requirements

• Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program and licensure through CCMA or NHA.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to inpatient care.
• Experience working in addiction or inpatient setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols and patient monitoring techniques.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
