Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant information.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program and licensure through CCMA or NHA.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to inpatient care.
- Experience working in addiction or inpatient setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and patient monitoring techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
