Job Title : Cloud Data Engineer – Advanced Analytics & Visualization
Salary Range: $85K/yr - $100K/yr
Location : Moline, Illinois (5days Onsite)
Job Type : Full Time – Permanent
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Data Visualization Engineer with strong experience in dashboard development, data integration, and front-end tools to support key initiatives in the ISG PV&V (Product Validation & Verification) group. This role will contribute to the development of tools that improve test result visibility, log metadata tagging, and cost/usage tracking of perception and simulation tools within the Automation & Autonomy space.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy a dashboard front-end for the Automated Test Analytics (ATA) tool to consolidate test results from multiple teams and sources.
- Enable project health monitoring and issue troubleshooting through visual analytics and metadata tagging.
- Collaborate closely with PV&V and simulation teams to gather detailed requirements and refine UI/UX based on stakeholder feedback.
- Build a new log tagging application integrated with the Nebula data tools hub, supporting metadata input/editing functionality.
- Develop a dataset creation and export utility within the Nebula hub to streamline simulation and validation workflows.
- Create a comprehensive data solution for cost and usage tracking of ISG perception tools, presented via an interactive dashboard.
- Ensure all tools and dashboards are scalable, maintainable, and user-friendly, and meet the needs of engineers and data consumers.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in Data visualization and web application development.
Required Skills:
- Experience designing and building Cloud-based data solutions
- Demonstrated competency in developing production-ready code using Python & AWS infrastructure (e.g. S3, policies, etc).
- Proficiency in using data-access technologies such as SQL, Spark, Databricks, MongoDB.
- Experience with data storage and management of various types of data (e.g. images, rasters, parquet, time-series, geo-tagged, text, and other unstructured data)
- Familiarity with spatial visualization tools (e.g. Folium, Plotly)
- Experience in developing alerts (e.g. through email automation), dashboards (e.g. Tableau), or other means to monitor system performance and issues.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to lead meetings, document work for reproduction, write persuasively, communicate proof-of-concepts, and effectively take notes.
- Ability and experience working in a self-directed mode and sense of ownership.
- Ability to manage multiple project schedules and milestones
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Robotics Workbench or ROS
- Experience with vehicle CAN signals
- Experience with machine vision, computer vision, image annotation, or machine learning
- Experience developing data products in the John Deere ecosystem including understanding Deere’s Cloud Security and Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) requirements.
- Knowledge of Agriculture and Construction & Forestry equipment
