Position overview:
Serves as a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT - MIS). This role acts as a technical expert and information resource for assigned IT projects, leading software testing efforts across application development, operations, technical support, and security to ensure all IT systems and services meet agency standards.
Key responsibilities:
Test Leadership & Execution: Perform and lead software testing activities across application development, technical support, and security domains to ensure IT products meet minimum standards.
Change Control Management: Lead and administer change control processes to drive zero-defect software deployments.
Test Data & Documentation: Create complex test datasets, document findings, maintain detailed testing logs, and generate weekly/monthly progress reports for management.
Process Improvement & Strategy: Conduct workflow analyses, recommend new QA practices/procedures, and drive continuous quality enhancements.
Training & Technical Writing: Prepare QA documentation, manuals, training curricula, and deliver training sessions while supporting agency technical writers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Must currently reside in the state of Indiana.
Strong technical expertise in end-to-end software quality assurance methodologies and change control governance.
Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional development teams and agency leaders.
Experience:
Senior-level experience in software quality assurance, test planning, execution, and defect tracking within enterprise application environments.
Hands-on experience creating complex test data and leading change control processes.
Proven experience developing QA documentation, training materials, and workflow improvement recommendations.
Preferred experience:
Prior experience working within state/government agencies or transportation systems (INDOT).
Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams involving application security, operations, and technical documentation.
