Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform Data Architect / Lead Consultant with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), BigQuery, and data engineering architecture. This role involves leading the design and implementation of scalable data platforms, building high-performance data pipelines, and driving best practices across the data ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will combine strong architectural leadership with hands-on development, working closely with stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions that enable advanced analytics and business insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and design end-to-end data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform using BigQuery and related services
- Develop, review, and optimize data engineering code and pipelines aligned with architecture standards
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate analytical and business requirements into scalable solutions
- Design and implement data marts, data models, and reusable data components
- Provide technical leadership, solution direction, and best-fit architecture recommendations
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and governance frameworks
- Perform code reviews, enforce quality standards, and mentor engineering teams
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges and performance bottlenecks
- Lead problem management, root cause analysis (RCA), and automation initiatives
- Work closely with product managers and business teams to deliver data-driven insights and recommendations
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10 years of experience in data engineering and cloud architecture
- Strong hands-on expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
- Deep experience with BigQuery (BQ) for data warehousing and analytics
- Proficiency in PL/SQL for data processing and transformation
- Strong experience in data pipeline design, ETL/ELT frameworks, and data modeling
- Experience in code reviews, architecture governance, and technical leadership
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Nice to Have:
- Proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Composer)
- Exposure to data lake and modern data platform architectures
