Role: Firewall Engineer
Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid)
Contract
Required Technical Skill Set
- Strong knowledge in Firewalls like Cisco FTD, FMC & FortiGate firewalls in High-availability mode, F5 load balancer, Cisco ISE
- Understanding of SSL, TCP/UDP, HTTP, FTP/SFTP, NTP, Telnet, NFS, SSH, LDAP, DHCP, DNS, etc.
- VPN concepts like GRE Tunnel, IPSEC VPNs, SSL & DMVPN, IPS and IDS
- Monitoring Tool, SolarWinds
- Good understanding of Switching, Routing & SDWAN concepts
- Good understanding of Meraki SDWAN, MX firewalls, MS switch and MR wireless
- Design, deploy, and manage networks using the Cisco Meraki Dashboard
Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)
Must-Have
- Level 2/3 Network Security Engineer
- Play a Subject Matter Expert (SME) role on network security technologies
- Deep and strong understanding of firewall (Layer-2 and Layer-3), Internet proxy, DNS, SSL VPN, S2S VPN, F5 Load balancer, Qradar and IPS technologies.
- Ability to implement and support complex security architectures involving but not limited to the above listed technologies.
- Strong experience on Cisco FTD & FortiGate firewalls
- Very strong hands-on experience on implementation and advanced troubleshooting in Cisco FTD, FMC, FortiGate, Watch guard firewalls in High-availability mode, F5 load balancer, Cisco ISE
- Maintaining various firewalls, virtual private networks, web protocols, and email security.
- Firewall Migration, hardware replacement & upgradation along with WAN circuit migration for multiple ISP.
- Extensive exposure on proxies, Cisco Umbrella involving complex traffic troubleshooting.
