Job Type: Per Diem, FLOAT Pool (On Call)
Pay: $21-22 per hour
Hours: Mon-Fri, Per Diem
Primary Responsibilities:
Front Office:
- Welcome patients warmly, manage intake forms, and efficiently schedule appointments.
- Navigate full-cycle patient registration, including insurance verification, eligibility checks, fee communication, and payment collection.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating patient demographics and insurance information in the electronic health records system.
Back Office:
- Measures and records vital signs, patient medical history and chief complaints.
- Prepares patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests.
- Assists physician with exams and other procedures.
- Prepares and administers medications and injections/blood draws with physician authorization as needed.
- Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks and sterilizes instruments.
- Maintains clean facility, rooms and waiting area.
Requirements:
- Certified Medical Assistant (not required if you do front desk only).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Knowledge in Insurance Verification and Authorizations is preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!
- 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
Skills:
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Proficient in medical terminology, medications, and injection procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with physicians, staff, and management.
- Demonstrated empathy and a commitment to treating all patients with kindness and consideration.
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA requirements for maintaining patient confidentiality.
