A day in your bootsYou begin by reviewing the day’s drawings and work orders, planning your sequence. You measure and cut components, set up your welding station, and select the right process—MIG, TIG, or flux-core—for the job. As you assemble and weld, you check fit-up and verify dimensions. Before signing off, you inspect each weld for quality and structural integrity, tidy your area, and reset for the next build—all while following safety and production standards.
What you’ll handle- Execute MIG, TIG, and flux-core welding on a range of metal materials
- Read and apply blueprints, drawings, and work orders to plan builds
- Measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal components for fabrication
- Set up and operate welding machines and fabrication tools
- Inspect finished welds to confirm quality and structural soundness
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area
- Adhere to company safety practices and production guidelines
- Previous welding or fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and take accurate measurements
- Experience using common fabrication tools and welding equipment
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality standards
- Capability to lift materials and work effectively in a manufacturing environment
