Position Summary
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments while ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and carrier performance. This role serves as the primary liaison between customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure shipments move efficiently from pickup through final delivery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced transportation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage daily LTL shipments from tender through final delivery.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries while ensuring customer service requirements and transit expectations are met.
- Track freight movements and proactively manage shipment exceptions, delays, and service issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding shipment status, updates, and issue resolution.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with LTL carriers and transportation partners.
- Negotiate shipment solutions and coordinate recovery plans when service disruptions occur.
- Monitor carrier performance, on-time pickup and delivery metrics, and service levels.
- Ensure shipment information is accurately entered and maintained within the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Verify freight classifications, accessorial charges, and shipment documentation.
- Audit carrier invoices and resolve billing discrepancies when necessary.
- Collaborate with Account Management, Customer Success, Carrier Sales, and other internal teams to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and enhance shipment visibility and efficiency.
- Assist with customer reporting, KPI tracking, and operational performance reviews.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and customer-specific operating procedures.
Required
- 2 years of experience in operations, logistics coordination, transportation, or supply chain.
- Working knowledge of LTL carrier networks, freight classifications, and transportation terminology.
- Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
