Do you have surveying experience and enjoy working in the field? Do you want to work with cutting-edge Leica scanning technology at industrial facilities, terminals, and infrastructure sites across the U.S.?
We’re looking for a motivated Field Survey Technician to perform precision field data collection and support engineering deliverables for industrial and infrastructure projects. This is a travel-heavy, hands-on role for someone who enjoys independence, problem-solving, and technical field work.
What You’ll Do
• Perform field surveys at industrial facilities, fuel terminals, tank farms, manufacturing plants, utility sites, and other infrastructure environments
• Operate total stations, GNSS equipment, and Leica scanning systems
• Process point clouds using Leica Cyclone CORE and/or Register 360
• Establish ground control points (GCPs) to ensure accuracy across large or complex sites
• Produce drawings and deliverables using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and (optional) Plant 3D
• Work independently while traveling for extended periods (2–3 weeks at a time)
• Follow safety protocols and site requirements in industrial environments
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
• Surveying degree OR equivalent hands-on field surveying experience
• Strong experience with total stations
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or Civil 3D (Plant 3D is a bonus)
• Experience with Leica workflow (Cyclone CORE, Register 360) or willingness to learn
• Experience establishing ground control points (preferred)
• Comfortable traveling solo for multi-week assignments
• Able to work safely in industrial settings and confined facility layouts
