The Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Officer to lead new client acquisition. This senior, highly autonomous, and entrepreneurial role focuses on sourcing, cultivating, and closing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families with $5MM in net worth.
This is a pure business-building role with substantial economic upside tied directly to results. The right candidate will view this as an opportunity to build a meaningful revenue stream within a firm positioned for long-term growth.
The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of the wealth management industry, a proven ability to attract new clients to the firm, and, ideally, an established network within our target markets. This role is best suited for a motivated self-starter who thrives in a performance-driven environment and maintains a strong focus on results.
The successful candidate will play a central role throughout the client lifecycle—from initial outreach and business development to long-term relationship management after onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect & Originate New Business
⸰ Identify, target, and engage high-net-worth individuals and families with $5MM in net worth
across target markets
⸰ Develop and execute personal business development strategies across MetroWest Boston,
Southern NH, Coastal Maine, and Cape Cod
- Relationship Development
⸰ Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects
⸰ Leverage centers of influence (attorneys, CPAs, consultants, etc.) for referrals
- Client Acquisition
⸰ Lead discovery conversations, present firm capabilities, and close new client relationships
⸰ Effectively communicate the firm’s value proposition, investment philosophy, and service model
- Build Long-Term Client Relationships
⸰ Develop trusted, long-term client relationships by maintaining regular communication,
responsiveness, and a high level of service throughout the relationship lifecycle
- Serve as Lead Relationship Manager
⸰ Following onboarding, serve as the primary relationship manager for clients introduced to the firm,
coordinating with internal advisory and investment teams to deliver exceptional client experience
- Deepen Client Relationships
⸰ Maintain ongoing engagement with clients to identify evolving needs, strengthen relationships,
and support long-term asset retention and growth
- Market Presence
⸰ Represent the firm at events, networking functions, community engagements, and direct outreach
efforts
⸰ Maintain strong visibility in target geographies
- Collaboration
⸰ Partner with internal investment and advisory teams to ensure a seamless, high-quality onboarding
experience
⸰ Provide feedback on market trends and feedback on client needs
Candidate Profile
- Experience, Education/ Qualifications:
⸰ Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in business, finance, economics, or related fields
⸰ Series 65 or advanced designation such as CFA or CIMA
⸰ 10 years in a client-facing, revenue-generating role such as:
– Financial Advisor / Wealth Advisor
– Business Development / Marketing within financial services
– Insurance, Pharmaceutical, or other high-performance consultative sales
- Industry Knowledge:
⸰ Strong understanding of wealth management, investment advisory services, and client needs at the
high-net-worth level
- Proven Track Record:
⸰ Demonstrated success in bringing in new clients
⸰ Ability to consistently meet or exceed investment advisory revenue targets
- Network:
⸰ Existing relationships or strong familiarity with target market regions is a plus (MetroWest Boston,
Southern NH, Coastal Maine, and Cape Cod)

- Base Salary
