Behavioral Health Technicians must possess strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. They should also be detail-oriented, capable of following instructions precisely, and committed to continuous learning and improvement in the behavioral health field.
Job Duties:
- Oversee and support patients in daily activities.
- Transport patients to and from housing, clinical settings, and outside activities.
- Ensure clients are safe and act within our community standards and regulations when inside and outside of the clinical setting.
- Observe and monitor patients' behavior, mental status, and physical condition.
- Communicate observations and concerns to the clinical team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, directors, and nurses.
- Encourage patients to participate actively in their own treatment and recovery process.
- Monitor patients when out in the community and regularly take attendance to ensure patient safety.
- Participate in therapeutic activities, such as group therapy sessions, recreational activities, and educational programs.
- Participate as a team member in all team meetings while providing input and information regarding patient needs and requirements.
- Work as a part of the team, demonstrating professionalism, maturity under stress, and objectivity.
- Act decisively, efficiently, and in accordance with established policies and procedures in emergency situations with staff and patients.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations related to job responsibilities.
- Regularly monitor the urinalysis of patients as needed under the nurse or clinician's guidance.
- Communicate with the patient care team as needed to report positive or negative observations, comments, or concerns.
