Kubernetes Administrator
Argentys Informatics, LLC has an immediate opening for a full-time position supporting biomedical Big Data applications at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). As a Kubernetes Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of the software development and deployment processes within the Kubernetes environment. Your primary focus will be on implementing and maintaining robust security practices, automation, and infrastructure-as-code principles to support the organization's DevOps and Kubernetes initiatives.
Expertise in Kubernetes: In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management, deployment, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in managing Kubernetes resources using tools like kubectl and Helm.
Automation and Scripting: Strong scripting and automation skills, using languages such as Python, Bash. Experience with configuration management tool Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
Monitoring and Logging: Experience with monitoring and logging tools in Kubernetes, such as Prometheus, Grafana. Ability to set up monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection.
Applicants must have BS (or MS) in IT field or similar, 7 years (3-5 years for MS) of professional experience, including 3 years experience in DevOps in Linux environment on-premise.
Knowledge of network switches (dell or cisco) and its setup and configuration is a plus. Qualified applicants must be detail-oriented, result-driven individuals who work well within team environments and have good communication skills.
Required Education / Experience:
- BS or MS in IT field or similar is a must.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes (k8s) setup and maintenance
- Strong Ansible, experience with scripting for automation
- Knowledge of Docker and similar container technologies
- Knowledge of Prometheus
- Knowledge of Grafana and dashboards
- Software development experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Software development experience in C/C or Python
- Familiarity with Conda/pip
- Experience building complex solutions that have been successfully deployed for a large customer base
- Knowledge of network switches and its setup and configuration (dell or cisco)
- Setup and configuration of RStudio/Posit server products
- Setup and configuration of JupyterHub/Lab, MATLAB or Tableu severs
- Familiarity with SSO technologies
