General Job Description
We are seeking a proactive IT Support Specialist to own the health and functionality of our end-user technology. In this role, you will do more than just "fix" computers; you will optimize system performance, streamline onboarding processes, and assist in the deployment of enterprise-level software. You are a natural problem-solver who enjoys technical research and is committed to continuous learning. By providing expert support for hardware, mobile devices, and networks, you will directly enable our team to work efficiently and without interruption.
Essential Duties
End-User Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide day-to-day technical support for hardware, software, networks, and end-user systems, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Effectively troubleshoot software issues, and perform research for resolution
- Monitor system performance and escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or vendors as needed.
Hardware & Equipment Management
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and related IT equipment.
User Lifecycle & Access
- Support user onboarding and offboarding, including account setup, access management, and equipment deployment and decommission.
- Assist with installation and configuration of enterprise-level software
Operational Excellence & Growth
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, solutions, and IT inventory to ensure compliance with internal standards and policies.
- Assist with planning, preparing, and implementing new projects
- Actively engage in continuous learning, utilizing both self-driven research and employer-supported training to keep technical skills sharp and relevant.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:

Education/Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or C.I.S. from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience, including Associate’s degree with 2 years of experience or High School diploma with 4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with personal computers and software applications, including Microsoft Office and other programs in use by AFG. Knowledge of Virtualization Platforms, Email Technologies, Firewalls, Databases, Role Based Access Control (RBAC) and VOIP systems are desirable.
