2026 Summer Intern – Areyvut

Areyvut
Bergenfield, NJ Intern
POSTED ON 5/26/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/24/2026

Launched in 2002, Areyvut’s mission is to strengthen the culture of chesed (kindness), tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (social action) in contemporary Jewish life. Through programs, services and resources, we infuse these core Jewish values into all stages of the lifecycle, across the entire spectrum of affiliation and observance, and in partnership with the full range of communal institutions.

Areyvut is seeking Summer Interns—virtual, in-person and hybrid—who are eager to do meaningful work, take ownership of real projects and actively contribute to building a more caring and connected commUNITY.

This is not a passive internship. Interns play an integral role in advancing Areyvut’s mission while gaining hands-on experience, developing skills and being challenged to think, create and lead.

This position is ideal for those interested in education, Jewish education, nonprofit programs, operations, development/fundraising, event planning, entrepreneurship and/or publishing. Interns work directly with Daniel Rothner, Areyvut’s Founder & Director, and gain exposure to the inner workings of a mission-driven organization.

What You Gain

  • The opportunity to lead and contribute to meaningful, real-world projects
  • Hands-on experience in a nonprofit setting
  • Exposure to strategy, programming and operations
  • Skill development in writing, research, communication and project management
  • The ability to build something tangible and impactful

Over the years, Areyvut has had the privilege of working with more than 100 interns, many of whom have gone on to leadership roles in Jewish education, commUNITY engagement and the broader nonprofit sector. This internship is a proven springboard for professional growth and meaningful impact.

Flexibility: Recognizing the varied schedules and commitments of today’s applicants, we offer significant flexibility. Interns can design a schedule that works for them and can choose in-person (at our office in Teaneck, NJ), virtual or hybrid options.

Compensation: Stipends range from $180 to $1,800 depending on the scope of the project and number of completed hours. Compensation is project-based and provided upon satisfactory completion of assigned work. Applicants with limited availability (including those able to commit fewer than 15 total hours) are welcome to participate as volunteers.
