Merchandise Planner – Data, Inventory & Purchasing

What You’ll DoInventory Planning & Data Analysis
- Analyze sales trends, inventory levels, and product performance
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory turns, forecasting, and profitability
- Build and maintain Excel-based reports and purchasing data tools
Purchasing & Vendor Management
- Create and manage purchase orders (POs) to ensure timely product availability
- Partner with vendors on pricing, quotes, lead times, and order status
- Monitor backorders, supply chain issues, and vendor performance
Merchandise Planning & Strategy
- Support category planning and product assortment decisions
- Use data to recommend buying strategies and inventory adjustments
- Help execute seasonal programs, promotions, and new product launches
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Distribution, and Finance teams
- Support trade shows, vendor programs, and marketing initiatives
- Help ensure accurate product data across systems
What You Bring
- Strong interest or experience in purchasing, merchandising, supply chain, or inventory planning
- Advanced or growing proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)
- Analytical mindset with ability to work with data, reporting, and trends
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience
- Purchasing or buying experience in distribution, retail, or manufacturing
- Experience with inventory planning, forecasting, or merchandise analysis
- Exposure to ERP systems or purchasing software
- Background in retail, wholesale, or consumer goods
