Job Summary
Plumbing Project Manager – New Construction
Salary Range: $90,000–$110,000 (Determined in Interview)
Location: Greater Phoenix / East Valley
A leading Commercial HVAC & Plumbing contractor is expanding and looking for a skilled Plumbing Project Manager ready to step into a stable, growth-oriented environment. What You Will Do Project Planning & Coordination
- Review drawings, submittals, and plumbing schematics for project planning.
- Build project schedules, manpower plans, and material takeoffs.
- Coordinate closely with GCs, engineers, inspectors, and field supervisors.
Construction Management
- Lead and direct field crews and subcontractors on new-construction projects.
- Oversee plumbing system installations including domestic water, DWV, hydronics, gas piping, storm systems, medical gas (if applicable), and specialty systems.
- Ensure work meets all quality, code, and project specifications.
Budget & Cost Management
- Track costs, labor hours, and change orders to maintain budget compliance.
- Approve purchasing, manage vendors, and monitor material deliveries.
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost while maintaining safety and performance.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Perform inspections, pressure tests, chlorination, camera inspections, and other system verifications.
- Maintain compliance with IPC, UPC, OSHA, and project QA/QC standards.
- Prepare documentation for inspections, commissioning, and closeout.
Safety, Risk Mitigation & Problem Solving
- Enforce safety standards and support a proactive safety culture.
- Resolve design conflicts, field challenges, and coordination issues.
- Anticipate schedule risks and adjust sequencing when necessary.
Communication & Reporting
- Maintain daily logs, progress reports, RFIs, and documentation.
- Lead weekly coordination meetings with foremen and site leadership.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all plumbing-related project matters.
Qualifications
- 7 years of professional plumbing experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proven experience managing plumbing projects, ideally $1M .
- Strong organizational skills with a commitment to deadlines and follow-through.
- A reliable, steady communicator who can guide and develop field teams.

Duties
- Lead planning, execution, and closeout of plumbing construction projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications, schedules, and budgets.
- Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project management tools; monitor progress and adjust plans proactively.
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate seamless communication and project flow.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to verify compliance with design intent and regulatory standards.
- Manage procurement processes including construction estimating, bid evaluations using HeavyBid or comparable software, and contract negotiations.
- Oversee on-site activities ensuring safety protocols are followed; supervise plumbing installation work on construction sites with civil 3D integration.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore and Bluebeam for document control, RFIs, submittals, and progress tracking.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality control; resolve issues related to project scope or schedule promptly.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on project status, risks, and resource allocation for stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and local building codes; review contracts regularly for scope clarity.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction management with a focus on plumbing or mechanical systems within large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems design, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and civil site plans.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6; experience with construction estimating software like HeavyBid is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction management platforms including ProCore and Bluebeam for documentation and collaboration.
- Strong background in contract administration, change management, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Hands-on experience working on construction sites with a solid understanding of safety standards and site logistics.
- Excellent time management skills coupled with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and standards governing plumbing installation and civil works.
