Direct Support Professional Full Time

Area Residential Care is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential homes and at the main building for day habilitation services in Dubuque, IA. Direct Support Professionals are responsible for the following:

• Community integrated activities
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene
• Follow instructions and initiate programs
• Assist with behavioral challenges and ensure the well-being of supported individuals
• Document daily progress on personal goals and services provided

1st shift (7a-3p) Supports five to eight individuals in residential homes with daily living skills, assisting with morning routines include personal hygiene care, and program activities. During the day, staff commutes to our main building in Dubuque, IA to support with day habilitation programs, which include skill-building, social skills development, and community outings.

2nd shift (3p-11p) Work at assigned house location, supporting individuals with meal preparation, participating in group outings and activities, assisting with bedtime routines and personal hygiene care, as well as providing additional supports as needed.

3rd shift staff (11p-7a) Work at residential homes, performing deep cleaning, making routine bed checks, supporting individuals with morning routines, and providing individualized support as needed.

***Wage differentials for night and weekend shifts.

***$1500 Retention Bonus!

Wage: $17.50 - $18.57 per hour

Minimum Qualification:

• Valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or HSED
• Ability to lift/transfer 20lbs regularly and occasionally 50 lbs
