What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oxford Educational Assistant position at AREA COOPERATIVE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES?
Are you committed to helping students achieve success? ACES is seeking Educational Assistants to work in our partner district, Oxford Public Schools in Oxford, CT. The individual works in conjunction with the special and regular education teachers to support and assist students to achieve successful outcomes; academic, social and physical. Works with individual students or small groups of students.
General duties:
- Assists the teacher with instructional support, student monitoring, and material organization.
- Assist students during transitions and supervises during class assignments.
- Assists with supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, field trips, and instructional activities.
- Ensure the learning environment is clean and safe.
- Reports observations to lead teacher.

Qualifications and Experience
- Some college preferred with a focus on education. High School Diploma/GED will be considered with experience.
- Ability to follow behavior plans/procedures.
- Ability to work well with students, staff and parents in a professional manner.
- Experience working in all school settings.
- Collaboration, organization and teamwork skills.
