What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead ABA Trainer position at Area Cooperative Educational Services?
All Lead ABA Trainer positions are in our ABA programs - EIBI located at ACES Village School in North Haven and SAILS located at ACES Center for Autism Spectrum and Developmental Disorders. EIBI provides programming for students ages 3 through 11 and SAILS provides programming for students ages 11 through 22. Lead ABA Trainers are typically assigned rotations in both programs to support them in developing a well rounded education and experience. The structure of both programs includes classrooms of 10 students co-led by a Special Education Teacher and BCBA. Lead ABA Trainers are assigned to the classroom of their supervising BCBA where they will collect both direct and indirect supervision hours.
The Lead ABA Trainer job description is as follows.
Assessment:
Records data in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner
Reviews data regularly and notifies supervisor(s) of any relevant information
Reviews student issues with relevant team members
Assesses reinforcer effectiveness
Conducts observations of students
Conducts observations of staff
Conducts procedural fidelity checks for on-going programs
Conducts reliability checks on data being collected
Assists leadership staff in analyzing behavioral and instructional data
Assists with formal behavior analytic assessments including functional assessments, skill-based assessments, and ecological assessments.
Prepares and disseminates assessment reports
General:
Interacts in a positive and professional manner with students at all times
Maintains student care and hygiene as needed
Primarily supports multiple students
Assists with the creation of instructional materials and visual supports as needed
Maintains student behavioral/instructional materials and information under the direction of leadership staff
Completes the setup and monitoring of data management systems
Displays data in graphs and tables
Assists with student scheduling
Assists in leading student casings
Assists in the completion of student updates
Attends and/or participates in PPT meetings
Performs all duties of an ACES ABA Trainer
Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor
Communication:
Completes all forms, reports, and paperwork in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner
Communicates relevant behavior/instructional information to team on an on-going basis
Communicates professionally with peers and leadership staff
Communicates professionally with outside agencies, and parent/guardians
Participates in staff/student meetings
Attends/participates in parent meetings
Instruction:
Designs individualized instructional task analysis
Knowledge:
Knows, understands, and complies with ACES policies and procedures
Knows, understands, and complies with Behavior Services and Autism Programs policies and procedures
Knows, understands, and complies with building/program policies and procedures
Knows, understands, and complies with safety management procedures
Knows, understands, and complies with all relevant all relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations
When relevant for RBT registration, BCBA certification, or supervision thereof, complies with all regulations and guidelines of the BACB
Demonstrates understanding for all concepts presented through the ACES Autism Programs Training Series
Knows, understands, and complies with all relevant individual behavior management programs in operation
Fluently discusses and applies pedagogic strategies based in Applied Behavior Analysis
Fluently discusses and applies applied behavior analytic concepts, principles, and methodologies
Continues professional growth through ongoing trainings, discussions and other learning opportunities presented
Seeks out additional training and professional development opportunities
Training:
Participates in assigned training and staff development opportunities
Provides training and feedback regarding instructional and behavioral skills
Assists with the provision of training and feedback regarding instructional and behavioral skills with staff
Provides training and feedback regarding instructional and behavioral skills when paired with new staff
Current enrollment in a BCBA training program.
Completes all components of ACES safety management training within 6 months of hire date.
Obtains BACB recognition for RBT certification within 6 months of hire date.
Meets proficiency with all job qualifications for an ACES ABA Trainer position.
Demonstrates the ability to appropriately and effectively accept and incorporate feedback from multiple supervisors.
Note:
This is a one-year appointment for which Lead ABA Trainers will receive a stipend in addition to their ABA Trainer salary.
