What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accompanist-Pt position at AREA COOPERATIVE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES?
The ACES Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven, Connecticut is seeking an experienced part-time dance accompanist in modern dance and ballet. Expertise in piano and/or percussion is required. Candidates must have strong improvisational skills and the ability to perform music with appropriate rhythms and tempo.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- As the Musical Accompanist for the Dance Department you will work in cooperation with various dance faculty to provide piano and/or percussion accompaniment and musical guidance during dance and modern technique under minimal direction
- Playing musical accompaniment for classes
- Equipment set up and break down

Qualifications:- Improvise and perform music with appropriate rhythms and tempos by observing the movement of dancers
- Prepare and be consistent and the studio
- Ability to play piano or percussion instruments proficiently and follow musical direction
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with students, faculty and staff
