Ardurra’s Northwest Region Structural Engineering Group is seeking a Structural Engineering Group Lead to join their growing team.

LOCATION
A preferred candidate would reside in an Ardurra northwest region office (Cody or Cheyenne, WY; Boise, Coeur d’Alene, Meridian, or Nampa, ID; Heber City, UT; Wenatchee or Spokane, WA). Working fully remote or located in an office outside the northwest region can be negotiated. This position will lead and support the Northwest Region’s Structural Engineering Group. The position involves leading, development and management of a team of engineers and aligning personnel and resources with project engineering goals and business requirements.
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs detailed phases of design engineering work for a project of moderate size and complexity. The incumbent must be fully competent in all conventional aspects of design engineering and be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Typical project requirements involve structural steel and reinforced concrete design. Typical projects include structural elements found in transportation, aviation, municipal, water/wastewater, and land development projects such as tanks, tank platforms, slabs, foundations, support structures (equipment buildings, pump houses, etc.), headwalls, simple-span bridges, and other similar project elements.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Must be a registered Professional or Structural Engineer in Idaho or surrounding states or be able to obtain license within 6 months from hire date.
- Generally will have 6 or more years of progressive experience
- Understanding of building and material codes, and understand local code requirements
- Experience supporting project scope, cost, and schedule for multiple projects and clients
- Expertise in engineering design programs and computer aided drafting; Revit experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, public, and clients
- Ability to supervise employees, mentor engineers, and provide input to owners, as needed
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
Key Responsibilities:
- Assures that drawings and designs are in accordance with industry and company standards
- Prepares, coordinates / approves design computations and quantity estimates
- Prepares or modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction documents, studies, permits, and designs for various projects
- Attends and/or conducts client and project meetings
- Directs and/or supervises the work of projects in the Structural Group
- Assures that the project conforms to the contractual agreement with the client
- Prepares proposals, budgets and contracts
- Ability to monitor and evaluate the operations of the Group
- Actively involved in monitoring budgets, schedules, and quality on projects within the Group
- Supervising staff and recruiting new staff when needed
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds
- Occasionally works in outside weather conditions
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate vehicle.
Salary Range
$120,000 to $180,000 (DOE)
