What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Analyst position at Ardmore?
The Accounts Receivable Analyst (ARA) will be focused on maintaining a comprehensive process and control framework to manage the revenue cycle (*) in a sustainable and transparent manner in support of Ardmore’s mission. The ARA will closely collaborate with the Finance team members and the broader leadership team to ensure timely and accurate billing for services provided and the corresponding collection of account receivables in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and related accounting pronouncements. The staff member in this position is required to review detailed revenue information, research and correct discrepancies, perform proper billing, review payments received, investigate unpaid claims, and make recommendations where process improvement opportunities are identified. The Accounts Receivable Analyst is expected to be the subject matter expert in this area of the business for all financial and operational aspects within the Finance Organization.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Processes billing for services rendered utilizing both automated and semi-automated methods through Maryland billing systems (LTSS) and Ardmore’s financial software.
- Compares remittance reports to billed claims to determine payment status of claims.
- Initiates research promptly on all claims not paid and collaborates with others to facilitate resolution within an expected timeframe.
- Develops expertise in use of the Maryland LTSS billing systems.
- Prepares timely journal entries in the accounting system to record revenue and accounts receivable transactions, including the determination and maintenance of the reserve for doubtful collections based on the latest reserve methodologies.
- Works frequently with other departments to obtain information necessary for accurate billing and to resolve discrepancies.
- Researches and resolves discrepancies before billing is submitted.
- Collaborates with Service Dept to Identify proactive strategies to address ongoing or chronic discrepancies.
- Prepares reports and statements for internal use.
- Supports budget and forecasting activities.
- Maintains a high level of accuracy.
- Works and proactively communicates with the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Accountant to ensure timely operations in the Finance Department as related to all aspects of the revenue cycle (*)
- Provides training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong math and computer skills.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications and accounting software.
- High level of organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in not-for-profit organizations, particularly in IDD service providers, is preferred.
- Ability to develop and maintain constructive working relationships with staff within Finance and throughout the organization.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible work schedule availability is required.

Salary Range $55,000-$65,000 annually
