Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, hard-working professional that is also safety-minded individual to join our team as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic. In this role, you will help keep a wide range of fleet trucks and heavy mobile equipment operating safely and efficiently through timely maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics and repairs on various brands and types of heavy mobile equipment.

· Complete maintenance and repair work in a timely and effective manner.

· Manage parts inventory and ordering to support ongoing service needs.

Work Environment and Safety

This role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair fuel, electrical, mechanical, brake, cooling, and hydraulic systems on a wide range of mobile equipment.

· Perform routine maintenance, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, and brake service, in accordance with manufacturer and company recommendations.

· Replace worn or defective parts, including disassembling and reassembling major components.

· Overhaul and test major systems, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulics, to ensure safe and efficient operation.

· Maintain accurate service and repair records, prepare reports, and help coordinate routine and emergency maintenance with foreman and project managers.

· Order and manage spare parts inventory to support ongoing maintenance and repair needs.

· Use tools, equipment, and assigned vehicles safely and properly while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

· Perform safety inspections, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and complete all work in accordance with safety and environmental procedures.

Qualifications

· A vocational or technical degree is strongly preferred.

· Proficiency in mobile equipment mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems is essential.

· Equipment-specific repair certifications are a plus.

· Candidates must be willing to work in varying weather conditions and pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.

Essential Skills

· Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and the construction, assembly, and maintenance of heavy mobile equipment.

· Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues effectively.

· Physical Ability: Able to handle heavy parts and work in awkward positions for extended periods.

· Tool proficiency: Skill in using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic wrenches, and welding equipment.

· Record keeping: Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare reports.
