Primary Function
- To repair mold equipment by utilizing various tools and equipment to weld, file, grind, vent, polish, letter cut, lathe work, millwork, etc.
- Iron, nickel, lead, and brass molds. Emery cloth. Welding powders. Graphite powders.
- Air powered tools. Grinding wheels. Files. Gloves. Wire brushes. Wrenches. Polishing equipment. Mill tools. Compressed air. Lathes. Bench/hand tools-grinders, polishers. Welding torches.
- Weld, grind, file, polish mold equipment and return equipment to required sizes.
- CNC Programming and operations
- Grind lathe tools and do lathe work as required.
- Run surface grinder when reducing mold equipment. (not currently in plant)
- Use milling machines when required for repairing mold equipment.
- Keep welding torches and gauges in safe and proper working condition.
- Keep work area clean and follow safe working practices.
- Inspect mold equipment when needed.
- Inform supervisor of irregularities of materials and mold equipment.
- Tool and Die Experience a
- Multi-task/Flexible-daily job task can vary.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Work independently or as a group
- 100% inside work
- Noise level 70 dbs.
- Lift 35lb regularly
- Exposures to dusts of lead, nickel, chromium, graphite
- Voluntary use of disposable dust
