Collections Manager
Arcwood is seeking a highly-organized and detail-oriented Collections Manager to oversee our Collections department. As the Collections Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to effectively manage and collect outstanding debts owed to our organization.
Ideal candidates will have a strong background in collections, excellent communication skills, strong reporting capabilities, and the ability to lead a team to achieve departmental goals.

Collections Manager
Arcwood is seeking a highly-organized and detail-oriented Collections Manager to oversee our Collections department. As the Collections Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to effectively manage and collect outstanding debts owed to our organization.

Essential Functions & Requirements
- Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
- Develops and implements effective collections strategies and procedures to maximize debt recovery while maintaining positive customer relationships
- Manages a team of collections agents, providing guidance, support, and training as needed
- Monitors and analyzes the performance of the Collections team, implementing measures to improve productivity and success rates
- Reviews and evaluates delinquent accounts, determining appropriate actions to be taken in accordance with Company policies and legal requirements
- Communicates with customers regarding their outstanding debts, negotiating payment plans, settlements, or other resolutions
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all collections activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Finance, and Customer Experience, to resolve complex or escalated customer issues
- Stays current on industry trends and best practices in collections, implementing new strategies or technologies as needed to improve efficiency and revenue results
- Prepares regular reports on collections activities, presenting data and insights to leadership
- Develops and maintains relationships with external collection agencies, attorneys, and other service providers as necessary
- Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
- Bachelor's degree (required); degree within business administration, finance or related field (preferred)
- 5 years of experience in collections (required)
- Previous experience within a supervisory role (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in utilizing collections software and systems (required)
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to collections, including fair debt collection practices and applicable laws and regulations
- Strong understanding of financial statements and credit evaluation
- Strong demonstrated ability to meet or exceed collections targets
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively negotiate and persuade customers to resolve outstanding debts
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends and make data-driven decisions; strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy in all records and communications
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively build and maintain positive relationships with customers and coworkers
- Ability to problem-solve and think creatively and find innovative solutions to collections challenges
- Strong computer skills including collections software and Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
