The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing special programs (such as the Success for Nonprofit Audit Preparation Program, SNAPP) for the Arctic Slope Community Foundation. The Program Manager works with clients, partners, contractors, and instructors to carry out special programs that help improve the quality of life for the Arctic Slope region. The Program Manager keeps the Executive Director, contractors, and stakeholders informed as to how the program objectives are being met. This role is critical in strengthening the resilience of tribal and municipal organizations within the Arctic Slope region by providing tailored education, financial management tools, and on-site support.
Duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Leadership & Oversight
• Directs the planning, implementation, and monitoring of organizational development programs and contracts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
• Develops project plans, tracks milestones, and ensures timely completion of key activities.
2. Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
• Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations, contractors, and other stakeholders to assess needs and deliver tailored support.
• Coordinates the work of external partners and consultants to achieve program goals.
3. Financial Management & Compliance
• Oversees program budgets, monitors
• Prepares and submits required reports and documentation to funding partners and stakeholders.
4. Program Evaluation & Reporting
• Monitors program progress, evaluates outcomes, and recommends adjustments to improve effectiveness.
• Compiles and presents reports on program achievements, challenges, and impact to leadership and community partners.
5. Training & Capacity Building
• Designs and delivers training, technical assistance, and capacity-building activities to strengthen the operational and financial skills of local organizations.
• Provides ongoing support for the adoption of best practices and organizational tools.
6. Community Engagement & On-Site Support
• Travels to Arctic Slope communities to provide hands-on support, conduct evaluations, and foster engagement in remote and cross-cultural settings.
• Facilitates effective communication and collaboration among diverse groups.
7. Administrative & Strategic Support
• Ensures program excellence through rigorous evaluation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of administrative systems.
• Supports the achievement of organizational strategic goals and undertakes additional duties as needed to respond to evolving community and program needs.
8. Other Duties as Assigned
• This position will be housed under the Development Department of the Arctic Slope Community Foundation, which is responsible for acquiring new revenue to pay for operations and most importantly to fund the foundation’s programs and services.
• Besides operating special programs as assigned, this position will also provide support for the fundraising endeavors of the organization.
