Role Description
We are seeking a Director of Accounting to lead and oversee an organization’s financial operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting, while ensuring GAAP compliance. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, managing financial reporting, and analyzing key financial metrics to support strategic decision-making. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cerritos, CA, requiring close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain the financial health and integrity of the company.
Responsibilites
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare accurate, timely financial statements, manage tax filings, and ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or SEC regulations.
- Operations Management: Direct daily accounting operations (AP, AR, Payroll, GL) and implement policies to improve efficiency.
- Leadership & Development: Hire, mentor, and supervise accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Audit & Internal Controls: Lead external audit processes, maintain robust internal controls, and safeguard company assets.
- Budgeting & Analysis: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Operational Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly reports to send to HQ.
- Enterprise Financial Planning & Strategy: Lead company-wide financial planning, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning, ensuring accuracy and cross-functional alignment
- KPI Management & Performance Optimization: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable recommendations to drive performance improvement
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting
- Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license or equivalent certification
- Strong Analytical Skills and Finance expertise
- Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and compliance
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Proficient in accounting software and financial tools
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
- Strong leadership and communication skills for team and stakeholder management
- Proven track record of managing and improving accounting processes in a similar role
- Must be bilingual in Korean
