SQF Practitioner / Food Safety Coordinator
Location: St. Cloud, MN

Job Summary
Arctic Cold Storage is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced SQF Practitioner to lead and maintain our food safety and quality systems within a fast-paced cold storage facility. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Safe Quality Food Institute (SQF) standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), audit management, and food safety programs within a warehouse or food distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the SQF System and documentation
- Serve as the primary SQF Practitioner during audits and inspections
- Manage and update the HACCP plan, including hazard analysis and CCPs
- Oversee food safety programs (GMPs, sanitation, allergen control, traceability)
- Conduct internal audits and lead corrective/preventive actions
- Train employees on food safety procedures and SQF requirements
- Maintain accurate records and ensure audit readiness at all times
- Work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams
- Investigate food safety incidents and implement solutions
Qualifications
- SQF Practitioner designation (or ability to obtain)
- HACCP certification required
- 2 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or related role
- Experience in cold storage, food manufacturing, or distribution preferred
- Strong knowledge of SQF Code and regulatory requirements (FDA/USDA)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a temperature-controlled (cold) environment
Preferred Qualifications
- PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification
- Previous audit experience (SQF, BRC, or similar)
