Vehicle Maintenance I

Basic Function and Overview:    Vehicle Maintenance provides an outstanding experience for guests via the safe, efficient, dependable operation and maintenance of the powered equipment fleet e.g., snowcats, snowmobiles, light passenger and commercial vehicles, off/on highway vehicles, heavy equipment, generators. Vehicle maintenance employees are focused on safety, efficiency, and being approachable and courteous. 

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

                Duties include, but are not limited to: 

• Thoroughly clean exterior and interior of automotive equipment.
• Maintain the fleet of vehicles and equipment that fall under the garage’s scope of responsibility.
• Maintain equipment that includes but is not limited to snow machines, mowers, small engines, snowmaking equipment and lifts as needed.
• Maintain ATVs, welders, chainsaws, pumps and other small engine type equipment.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance.  
• Responsible for the security of vehicles, equipment, and facilities.
• Note any unusual or unexplained damage to vehicles and report incidents to supervisor.

Required Skills and Abilities: 

• Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair.
• Excellent mechanical repair skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Required Education and Experience: 

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field is preferred.
• Two years of related experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
