Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled, motivated and career minded Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in alarm systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and customer service skills to ensure the safety and security of our clients' properties. The Alarm Technician will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality service.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair alarm systems, including fire alarms and low voltage systems.
- Read blueprints and schematics to understand system design and layout.
- Conduct system inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Accurately document service reports and inspection findings.
- Perform field service tasks, including troubleshooting and resolving issues with alarm systems.
- Work with hand tools and power tools to complete installations and repairs effectively.
- Collaborate with clients on alarm system sales, providing expert advice on suitable solutions for their needs.
- Demonstrate mechanical knowledge in the installation of sensors and other components.
- Ensure all work complies with the NFPA and state standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Fire Alarm Technician (1–3 years preferred).
- Knowledge of NFPA 72, local fire codes, and general life-safety standards.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record to qualify for company vehicle.
- NICET Certification preferred but not required.
- FDNY COF Certification preferred but not required.
- Strong electrical experience with an understanding of low voltage systems.
- Familiarity with fire sprinkler systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of construction practices and inspection processes.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.

Pay: $20.00 - $45.00 per hour
