Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Stocker / Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and experience in retail sales environments such as grocery stores. Bilingual abilities and supervisory experience are a plus, helping to enhance the shopping experience for diverse customers. Duties
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure a neat and accessible store layout
- Assist customers with product inquiries, providing product demos when necessary
- Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods with proper cash handling procedures
- Upsell products and promote store specials to increase sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by arranging products attractively and restocking as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service through friendly communication and phone etiquette
Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail sales, grocery stores, or cashier roles is preferred
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic retail math skills
- Strong communication skills, including effective phone etiquette
- Ability to perform cashiering duties accurately and handle cash responsibly
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and upselling techniques
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse customer base
- Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory counts
