Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Gas Station Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling cash transactions, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the gas station and convenience store. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to upsell products effectively while ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly as they enter the gas station and assist them with their needs.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing transactions accurately.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
- Upsell products in the convenience store, including snacks, beverages, and other retail items.
- Stock shelves and ensure that grocery store items are well-organized and displayed attractively.
- Maintain cleanliness in both the gas station area and convenience store, including restrooms and outdoor spaces.
- Address customer inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Monitor fuel levels and assist with basic maintenance tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service or retail sales is preferred, specifically experience at an ARCO AM/PM
- Strong cash handling skills with a basic understanding of retail math.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to upselling products to enhance customer experience.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
