Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior
• Administer medications and manage care plans in accordance with healthcare regulations and HIPAA privacy standards
• Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with meal consumption as needed
• Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with patient transfers safely and efficiently
• Maintain detailed documentation of patient observations, care provided, and any incidents in compliance with healthcare protocols
• Engage in cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards within residents’ living spaces and common areas
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to deliver holistic patient care
• Participate in training sessions on CPR, first aid, assisted living procedures, and specialized care techniques for individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, or hospice care environments
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
• Certification in CPR and first aid required; additional certifications such as medication administration or dementia care are highly valued
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory impairments preferred
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina for long shifts required
• Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing health changes early
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and families
• Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life
