Analytical Chemist Job Requirements
- Assist in the development of novel analytical methods to better support R&T's objectives
- Write analytical reports and maintain proper written records of results and activities
- Operate and maintain chromatography, spectroscopy, thermal and mechanical analysis instrumentation. This includes, but is not limited to, routing instrument operation, tracking and validating instrument performance metrics, performing preventative and emergency instrument maintenance, and ensuring necessary stocking of solvents, reagents and consumables.
- Communicate with product groups requesting analysis to fully understand the problem they wish to solve. Choose analytical methods and experimental designs to best meet those needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe lab environment in compliance with Arclin HSE policies and procedures. Ensure that all lab equipment is maintained and operating optimally
- Bachelors of Science (BS) in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science or related fields
- 3-5 years’ experience within an analytical chemistry laboratory environment; MS degree will substitute for two years of experience
- Experience in thermal analysis, spectroscopy and chromatography
- Knowledge of experimental design, laboratory equipment and project planning skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to document and write technical reports.
- Strong logical reasoning and problem solving skills.
- Proficiency in the use of computer and analytical instrument software
