Position Summary
The PGA Head Golf Professional is the primary ambassador of the Weymouth golf experience and a key member of the club’s leadership team. This role sets the tone for member service, tournament programming, instruction, and retail excellence—while driving participation, engagement, and revenue growth across all golf operations.
This is a culture-defining leadership position requiring a visible, charismatic, and business-minded PGA professional who elevates daily golf operations to championship private-club standards.

Key Responsibilities
Member Experience & Culture Leadership
- Serve as the face of Weymouth golf operations and primary relationship leader for the membership
- Maintain high on-course visibility and member interaction
- Lead new member golf orientation and integration
- Foster a warm, inclusive, and hospitality-driven golf culture
Tournament, Programming & Play Management
- Design, implement, and grow a comprehensive calendar of:
- Club Championships
- Member-Guest and Member-Member events
- Men’s, Women’s, Couples, and Family programs
- Junior golf and developmental pipelines
- Manage tee sheet strategy to maximize participation and pace of play
- Govern rules, handicaps, and pace-of-play standards
Teaching, Instruction & Player Development
- Deliver high-quality private instruction, clinics, academies, and group programming
- Expand instruction revenue through innovative programs and player-development tracks
- Lead junior golf, women’s golf, and beginner-friendly pathways
Retail, Merchandising & Branding
- Oversee golf shop merchandising, buying, displays, and promotional strategy
- Develop branded Weymouth merchandise and tournament gifting programs
- Control inventory, margins, and vendor relationships
Financial & Strategic Management
- Prepare and manage golf operations budgets
- Drive revenue growth across instruction, events, retail, leagues, and cart fees
- Assist in capital planning for carts, practice facilities, and golf amenities
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, coach, and inspire the golf operations team
- Create a culture of accountability, service excellence, and professional development
- Conduct performance reviews and career-growth planning
Communication & Member Relations
- Partner closely with:
- General Manager
- Superintendent
- Membership & Events Teams
- Communicate programs, promotions, and course updates to members
- Handle member feedback and service recovery with professionalism
Qualifications
Required
- PGA Class A Member in good standing
- Minimum 5 years of progressive golf operations leadership
- Proven success in tournament programming, instruction, and retail management
- Strong financial acumen and team leadership skills
- Exceptional member-service orientation
Preferred
- Private club experience
- Multi-club portfolio experience (Arcis or similar)
- Strong branding and merchandising creativity
Physical & Scheduling Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and tournament schedules
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
