What are the responsibilities and job description for the Excavator Operator position at Arcilla Mining & Land, LLC?
General Purpose
Experienced in the advanced operations of Heavy Equipment off road truck or various
sizes and models.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Operates heavy equipment off road truck/tractors to meet production targets.
2. Conducts pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and completes daily pre-shift inspection sheets.
3. Operates heavy equipment to remove overburden and unusable clay. Segregates and stockpiles many different grades of useable material to ensure quality products.
4. Interprets and understands result cut maps and XY drill grid location, and elevations of mineral material and overburden.
5. Coordinates mining procedures and schedules with Mine Supervisor in order to follow the current mine plan.
6. Maintains heavy equipment in good operating condition, reporting and logging maintenance requirements or concerns.
7. Estimates the amount of crude feedstock needed and communicates with supervisor.
8. Communicates with contract haul drivers to ensure safe dumping conditions (level surface for trailer dumps).
9. Wears appropriate personal safety protection, follows prescribes safety guidelines, and maintains clean and safe work area.
10. Conducts equipment inspection reports, pre-shift area inspections and reports all safety and environmental issues.
11. Performs other duties assigned by mine supervisor.
12. A good attitude and work ethic is a job requirement.
Essential Job Functions
1. Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, bend, reach, pull and lift.
2. Ability to sit for long periods of time.
3. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
4. Agility and strength to climb on and off truck using 3-points of contact.
5. Ability to work outside and in all weather conditions.
6. Ability to work with fuel, dust, lubricants and solvents.
7. Requires climbing to heights of 15 ft.
8. Exposed to noise (>85dB).
9. Dexterous use of both hands and feet.
Preferred Qualifications
1. High School diploma or GED preferred.
2. Basic math at high school or equivalent level is required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
