This is a permanent position.
Position Overview:
- Full-time, employed faculty position within a newly established Internal Medicine Residency Program
- Role: Geriatrics Sub-specialty Education (SSE) Coordinator
Responsibilities split:
- 0.05 FTE administrative
- 0.95 FTE clinical (50% outpatient geriatrics, 50% precepting residents in IM residency clinic)
- Oversee geriatrics curriculum and lecture series with support from the Internal Medicine Program Director
- Program will welcome its first residents in July 2026
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum development and lecture oversight
- Clinical supervision of residents
- Assessment and evaluation of fellows and residents
- Quality improvement initiatives
- Research and scholarly activity
- Collaboration across the health system and academic leadership
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Geriatric Medicine (ABIM or ABFM)
- Eligible for unrestricted medical license in South Carolina
- Eligible for unrestricted Active Medical Staff privileges
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Prior teaching or administrative experience preferred but not required
