What are the responsibilities and job description for the SEMI SKILLED OPERATOR position at Archway Marketing Services, Inc.?
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
Responsible for the accurate moving, locating, relocating, and storing of materials, utilizing a forklift or other power-operated equipment.
MAJOR AREAS OF PERFORMANCE
- Safe and efficient operation of all power-operated equipment that requires certification
- Safe and efficient movement of the product. (Including loading and unloading trucks)
- Accurately pick and pack items for shipment , potentially with a forklift
- Label and prepare items for shipment
- Work with Inventory Control on correct product placement
- Complete required paperwork and project time-tracking documentation
- Maintain warehouse order to ensure pallet locations are kept available for incoming items
- Ensure all items not required short term are restocked according to established procedures
- Update Warehouse Management System with transaction
- Performs daily safety checklist and standard battery charging procedure
- Assist with contacting freight couriers to schedule pick-ups and deliveries
- Assist in cycle counting and periodic inventories
- Assist team members in meeting and exceeding customer expectations
- Update supervisor and team lead on issues or concerns
- Participate in process Improvement by communicating with the supervisor and/or the team lead
- Maintain a clean, organized , and safe work area
- Support and maintain corporate quality, health and safety standards, processes, policies, practices and work instructions. (ISO standards where applicable)
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION (EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS) REQUIRED
- High School Diploma or GED required or 3 years of relevant warehouse experience
- Previous warehouse/manufacturing experience required
- Forklift experience preferred
- Current forklift certification and/or ability to become certified within a 30-day period required
- Basic math and reading skills
- Must be able to read and understand written and verbal instructions
- Ability to pay attention to detail to ensure accuracy
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds solo and greater weights in a team-lift environment
- Physical requirements include: lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods of time, ability to handle heights
