Role Description The Junior Specification Sales role is a full-time, on-site position based in Dallas, TX. This role supports the sales and specification process by assisting senior sales team members with project take-offs, product selections, and preparation of proposals for architects, designers, contractors, and end clients. Day-to-day tasks include learning product lines, reviewing plans and specifications, organizing pricing and documentation, and coordinating with internal teams and manufacturers to ensure accurate and timely responses. The junior team member will help maintain CRM and project tracking tools, respond to basic customer inquiries, and participate in job meetings or presentations as needed. The position also involves ongoing training in lighting technologies, industry standards, and specification best practices, with opportunities for growth into independent sales and account management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with architects, designers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Basic sales, customer service, or account support experience, with an interest in building long-term client relationships.
• Technical aptitude and willingness to learn lighting products, specifications, and construction documents (plans, drawings, schedules).
• Solid organizational and time-management skills for handling multiple projects, tracking details, and meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, email), and comfort using CRM or project management tools.
• Ability to work on-site in Dallas, TX, including occasional visits to job sites, client offices, and industry events.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, architecture, interior design, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Interest in architectural lighting, design, and construction; prior exposure to the lighting or building industry is a plus.
• Self-motivated, curious, and receptive to feedback and mentorship to grow into a more senior sales or specification role.
