- Process payroll transactions accurately using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring timely payments to employees.
- Enter and verify payroll data, including hours worked, benefits deductions, taxes, and other adjustments using accounting software like QuickBooks or Ceridian.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, ensuring consistency and accuracy across financial records.
- Assist with benefits administration tasks related to payroll, including tracking leave accruals and processing benefit deductions.
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions by managing related data entry and journal entries within financial software platforms.
- Collaborate with human resources to ensure compliance with tax regulations and governmental reporting requirements.
- Perform account reconciliation tasks such as verifying debitscredits, general ledger reconciliation, and preparing detailed reports for management review.
- Maintain meticulous records of payroll transactions, employee data updates, and audit documentation for internal controls and compliance purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience working with payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or Kronos is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debitscredits, and general ledger accounting.
- Familiarity with financial concepts related to benefits administration, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability in data entry accuracy with proficiency in 10 key typing skills.
- Experience handling accounts payable/receivable processes along with account reconciliation tasks.
- Knowledge of tax regulations affecting payroll processing and reporting requirements is a plus.
- Excellent analysis skills combined with a solid understanding of human resources functions related to payroll processing.
