Job Description
Architectural Glass & Metal Company (AGM) is a leading commercial glazing contractor serving the Northeast. We specialize in curtainwall, storefront, window wall, entrances, and specialty glass systems for commercial construction projects.
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager / CAD Drafter to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with AutoCAD experience and a background in construction, architecture, engineering, or drafting who is looking to build a long-term career in commercial construction.
You will work directly with experienced Project Managers on a variety of commercial projects while developing the skills needed to advance into a Project Manager role.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed shop and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout documents.
- Assist with estimating, material takeoffs, and project budgets.
- Coordinate with architects, general contractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Assist with project scheduling and procurement.
- Support Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination.
- Maintain organized project documentation.
- Help ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercial construction, glazing, architectural, engineering, or drafting experience preferred.
- Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field is a plus, but not required.
