What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator position at Architectural Fabrication?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Fabricator to join our fabrication team. The purpose of this position is to provide necessary support to the Fabrication shop in the form of assembling metal structures by welding, cutting, and shaping material. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Ability to read and properly interpret blueprints, plans, and layouts.
Knowledge of planning layouts and measurements, as well as testing welding surfaces.
Ability and knowledge to set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment.
Ability to determine appropriate welding equipment and methods based on material and requirements.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair common equipment issues.
Able to identify and correct design issues that may affect the quality or strength of the product.
Ability to positively motivate and provide detailed training to team members.
Provides input to management about team member job performance/skill level.
Aid in tracking all components of a job from start to finish.
Keep the work area clean, maintain a safe work environment, and properly wear the required PPE.
Safely operate power hand tools and stationary equipment such as angle grinders, sanders, miter saws, drill press, etc..
Ability to understand fabrication documents and follow their instruction.
Must be proficient in reading a tape measure to the nearest 1/16th of an inch.
Ensure all items are correctly identified, labeled, and staged for the appropriate departments.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth flow of fabricated products to support production needs.
Inspect materials for quality and report any defects or issues.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years experience of aluminum welding.
Professional Certification.
OSHA 30 Certified.
The ability to pass a welding certification.
Certified forklift operator.
Moderate proficiency in Salesforce and Google Workspace.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a fabrication role is preferred.
