We are looking for a full-time leader dedicated to acquiring, activating, and engaging our professional builders, with the opportunity to influence our product roadmap, current and new partnerships, marketing messages, and overall strategy to better engage this population.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial GTM leader who has successfully sold software or technology solutions to small and mid-sized residential builders. This role blends elements of sales, customer success, lifecycle marketing, partnerships, and light product strategy. You will shape our builder value proposition, build scalable programs, and directly engage with builders to deepen their usage of AD’s platform.
Responsibilities & Key TasksBuilder Acquisition & Revenue Growth
- Develop AD’s go-to-market strategy for professional builders, including segmentation, outreach, and engagement motions
- Own the builder sales & activation funnel: outreach, qualification, needs discovery, demos, onboarding, and early usage
- Create a repeatable sales playbook, builder narrative, and value messaging
- Prospect, nurture, and convert builders across SMB, regional, and mid-market segments
- Identify high-value builders and cultivate long-term partnerships
Builder Engagement, Adoption & Retention
- Deeply understand builder workflows and help them adopt AD’s product suite (plans, cost tools, rewards, modifications, insights)
- Build lifecycle engagement programs that grow plan purchases, repeat use of cost-to-build reports, and platform usage
- Monitor builder health, usage signals, and churn risks; implement proactive retention plans
- Develop personalized and programmatic ways to keep builders active, including quarterly business reviews, rewards education, webinars, and onboarding sessions
Product & Insights
- Become the internal advocate for builders: surface product gaps, feature requests, pricing needs, and workflow opportunities
- Partner with Product & Engineering to shape roadmap investments that improve builder experience and revenue
- Collaborate with Marketing to build content, case studies, newsletters, and data-driven insights for builders
- Contribute to the evolution of AD’s future builder platform
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Customer Service to ensure smooth builder interactions, quoting workflows, and custom requests
- Represent Architectural Designs at trade shows, builder association events, and regional conferences
- Build early partnerships with industry orgs, homebuilder networks, and construction-tech ecosystem players
- Present trends and performance updates to leadership, influencing strategy with data
Operational Excellence
- Build and manage a pipeline using a CRM or other systems
- Track KPIs—activation, plan purchases, repeat usage, rewards adoption, and subscription engagement
- Create dashboards and reporting that make builder trends visible across the company
- Help build scalable systems and eventually a team to serve thousands of builders
Who You Are
Requirements:
- You have 3 years of experience in the residential construction industry and 15 years of total relevant experience in the homebuilding, design, residential construction or supply chain sectors
- You are familiar with construction documents, working drawings, and modifications
- You are familiar with pre-drawn house plans
- You are conversational in understanding key inputs that drive costs in residential construction
- You thrive in foundational roles—comfortable with ambiguity, building processes, and moving fast
- You are a strong communicator able to earn trust with builders, designers, and internal teams
- You are both strategic and hands-on: excited to define the playbook and run the early sales/CS motions yourself
- You’re passionate about homebuilding and improving the building process for professionals
- You are analytical, organized, and motivated by clear goals
- You are entrepreneurial and excited about shaping a new business line at a growing company, and embrace ambiguity
Bonus:
- Experience with construction estimating tools, visualization platforms, or plan libraries
- Experience selling subscription or membership products
- Familiarity with builder associations, training programs, or construction trade shows (IBS, NAHB)
- Prior roles in construction tech companies (e.g., project management, estimating, visualization, marketplace tools)
- You have contacts in the homebuilding space
